Wedding Bells at Martin Saints
SHE SAID YES! Wedding bells (again) at Martin Saints!
Over the last few months, if you kept a sharp eye, you might have noticed that our school's music teacher was unusually collegial with our art teacher. What signs reveal the brewing chemistry between a man and a woman? Some of us might have noticed when he brought her a cup of coffee every morning. Ahem.
Much prayer and discernment was happening in the background.
Today, on an ordinary Monday afternoon, Mr. Cuddy could not contain himself anymore. He strode into Miss Fitzpatrick's 11th grade art class. He got down on one knee. He told her that he loved her. He told her that she helps him grow closer to God and be a better man. He told her that he wanted to follow Jesus with her for the rest of his life. He offered her a ring that he had made that morning in our metal shop (he teaches metal-working too). He asked her to marry him.
SHE SAID YES.
The eleventh graders lost their minds.
Their shouts reverberated across campus. Soon almost the whole school was in the room, hugging, laughing, crying. Deacon gave the Church's blessing for engaged couples and splashed them with holy water.
Well done and congratulations to Mr. Cuddy and Miss Fitzpatrick, our beloved Brett and Kiera!
