Three Martin Saints-y Podcasts
Did you enjoy that March for Life video earlier this week? Of course you did! (And if you haven't seen it yet, what are you waiting for?)
But wait, there is more. It's been a big week for media at Martin Saints. Here are three podcasts for you to consider:
First, Mrs. Holly Guertin was on a podcast. "The Catholic Woman" can be seen on YouTube or heard on Spotify or Apple podcasts. Mrs. Guertin is our dearly beloved fiber arts teacher, and chair of our craftmanship department. On this podcast, she talks about growing up and learning to be an artist, going to college for art and design, and getting started in the fashion industry. She also shares her conversion story, and how she manages her schedule as a mom, an artist, and a teacher. Finally, don't miss her beautiful comments about our Martin Saints students. We are so blessed to have Mrs. Guertin on our faculty!
Next, our own Deacon Chris Roberts was a guest on Victor Davis Hanson's podcast. Again, you can watch on YouTube, or listen via Spotify or Apple. Dr Hanson has been sick, but Deacon talked with guest host Jack Fowler about the rise of classical education in America, the Chesterton Network, and the founding of Martin Saints.
Finally, and speaking of the March for Life: as you can see in the video, each year when we arrive in Washington, we start the day at the Basilica on the Catholic University of America campus. This annual pilgrimage has helped make CUA a second home for many of our students. CUA is one of the most popular college choices for our graduates. Two weeks ago, on the evening of the March, CUA hosted a conversation on the future of the pro-life movement. The conversation between Ross Douthat and Lila Rose can be viewed on the New York Times website, or, once again, on Spotify or Apple. Highly recommended as a follow-up to the March and for getting oriented to the state of the national pro-life movement.
Well, that's a lot of podcasts. Sorry about that. Enough to keep you busy this weekend, or perhaps on your commutes to school next week. But if you're new to Martin Saints, and you're intrigued by this school, why not put our next open house on your family calendar? Noon on February 22nd. Come meet our students and teachers, and learn how to apply. Details and RSVP here. As you can see from these podcasts about art, the life of the mind, and pro-life, this school offers some potent combinations. Our school motto: the glory of God is man fully alive! Come, join us!
