Anamaria Hazel

Mrs. Anamaria Hazel was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana in a lively home with four siblings, with a mother from Panama and an Italian father who is a permanent deacon in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

She met her husband, who is from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, while they were attending McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. They have now been married for 26 years!

Mrs. Hazel transferred to and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology.

She worked in the construction industry for over 15 years in project management on various commercial projects ranging from higher education to shopping center renovations. Mrs. Hazel has recently retired from the construction industry and is ready to build hearts for Martin Saints Classical High School.

Mrs. Hazel and her husband now live in Harleysville. They have two adult children. The Hazel family converted to classical education in 2018 after their two children completed seventh and ninth grade at public schools. The Hazels longed for an educational environment where their children’s virtues would be fueled, not their vices. Where a screen would no longer be between their children’s educational growth and their teacher’s instructions. Where what was taught at home was reinforced, unabashedly, from their joy-filled and unified Catholic teachers. Classical education is where they found security and freedom in their children’s spiritual growth and a foundation for life-long learning.

Martin Saints Classical High School was a lifeline of security and freedom for the Hazel family. The younger Hazel daughter graduated from Martin Saints in 2023. Now Mrs. Hazel is blessed and honored to be a part of the team that continues to build new hearts for this amazing school.

Mrs. Hazel loves live local music, dancing, walks with her family and friends, and a good cup of tea while reading books about St. Therese of Lisieux, the saint who brought her to Martin Saints. She is currently reading Therese of Lisieux: Secrets of Joy by Fr. Pierre Descouvemont.
