Mrs. Ana María Rodriquez-Rojsa was born into a multicultural family — the daughter of a Spaniard father and a Cuban mother — and raised amid deep, abiding ties to Spain, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. A native Spanish speaker, she attended a Franciscan school in Puerto Rico, where her Catholic faith and her love of the Spanish language took firm root side by side. Every summer of her childhood was spent on her father's family farm in Asturias, Spain, an experience that planted in her a lifelong love of the natural world, the Spanish language, its literature, and the Catholic worldview of Iberoamerica.  

She earned a Master's degree in Microbiology from Thomas Jefferson University and built a twenty-year career as a pharmaceutical professional, drawing on bilingual fluency to bridge drug discovery and development, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, culture, and collaboration across Iberoamerica. Yet alongside that scientific vocation, Mrs. Rodriquez-Rojas has always carried a deep and abiding love of learning and of teaching — a joy she has lived out over the years as a Spanish tutor, delighting in helping others discover the same love of language that has shaped her own life.

She is passionate about serving her community and bringing others into a joyful encounter with Christ. She is drawn to classical Catholic education because it forms the whole person — mind, body, and soul — and she hopes to guide her students not only into fluency in Spanish, but into a deeper engagement with the literature, history, and Catholic tradition in the Spanish-speaking world, discovering language as a living doorway into faith, community, and truth.

Mrs. Rodriquez-Roja shares a multilingual, multicultural home with her husband, the Martin Saints chess coach Thorsten Verch, and their two daughters — one of whom is a MSC alumna — and counts being a wife and mother among her greatest and most cherished vocations. A parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua in Ambler, she delights in playing board games, drinking Cuban coffee, playing guitar, gardening, and cooking for the people she loves.
